I am a 49 year old male. I had some memory loss after surgery under general anesthesia. Is memory loss normal after general anesthesia?

Maybe you will be confused or disorientated, but memory loss, no.

It depends upon your overall health, the type of surgery, the duration of the surgery, and many other factors. In young, healthy patients, permanent memory loss is a rare occurrence. Some patients may experience transient loss and recover in 3-6 months.
