The first thing that comes to mind with what you described is that you should have a chiropractor or naturopath that specializes with chronic pain to assess you for both spinal/pelvic misalignment, nerve impingement (i.e., nerve pinching) and muscle tension. If you have a misalignment, they can correct it and that will help correct the issue. If it’s muscle issue, they can show you stretches and/or strengthening exercises to relieve your pain. Why take even natural pills/supplements when you can correct the cause of the problem?
For most back problems, exercise and movements are the natural stimuli for the healing process, meaning gradual, progressive exercise, that is. This most often provides the best long-term solution for reducing back pain and preventing or at least lessening any future episodes. Most experts advise against any prolonged periods of inactivity as this can increase back pain, as the back becomes stiff, weak, and deconditioned. Also, you may be experiencing what is called the Piriformis syndrome. It is believed to be caused by the compression of the sciatic nerve as it passes through the buttocks region. When the sciatic nerve is constricted and irritated, the individual will experience the symptoms of what is believed to be the Piriformis syndrome. These symptoms may include back pain and pain and numbness in the buttocks going down the leg. Often, the symptoms are worsened with prolonged sitting. Set a timer for 30-60 minutes to remind yourself to get up and stretch/move.
Low back pain is so common, most of us experience some level of lower back pain occasionally or, for many, constantly. Simple lower back aching and discomfort uncomplicated with no disc or other structural problem can usually be relieved with stretching, yoga, posture correction, massage, chiropractic adjustment, hot packs or soaking, acupuncture, or acupressure. These are a few suggestions, but usually the right stretches and correcting your posture will help.
