What precautions should pathologist take when dealing with samples of contagious diseases?

I am going to be pathologist and I will have to deal with samples of contagious diseases. What precautions should I take?

We usually cover with an apron, face shields, and globes. Thank you.
Always wear gloves. If dealing with something fresh, big and bloody, wear protective clothing, shoe covers and at least glasses. A face shield may be needed as well. Good luck.
