“Are there any specific workouts that could prevent constipation?”
I am extremely prone to constipation and most of the times need to have medication to prevent or relieve it. Are there any specific workouts that could ease constipation symptoms in a person?

Yes, physical activities that stimulate intestinal motility can help alleviate constipation. These include:
Aerobic exercises: Walking, jogging, or cycling increases blood flow and stimulates bowel movements.
Core-strengthening exercises: Yoga poses like "Pawanmuktasana" (Wind-Relieving Pose) or twisting poses can massage abdominal organs and enhance gut motility.
Pelvic floor exercises: Strengthening these muscles can support better defecation mechanics.
Aim for 20–30 minutes of daily moderate exercise to promote regular bowel movements.

While there's no guaranteed workout to prevent constipation, regular physical activity can help stimulate your digestive system.
Hello, Unfortunately there are no specific exercises as part of physical therapy that can assist with constipation but performing general aerobic and strength training activities coupled with dietary modifications can help improve digestive health and overall wellbeing. Thank you so much for reaching out.
Try using gentle heat for your lower abdomen and biking if that is available, walking daily will help as well.
If there is no direct medical reason for your constipation, then constipation can come from a lack of muscle recruitment or use through your core. Our abdominal muscles are key for normal digestion. If you are living a sedentary lifestyle then increasing general movements (for example walking, swimming) can help improve gastric motility. At this point I would highly recommend you seeking a referral for physical therapist who specializes in manual care.
