What age do most people start needing hearing aids?

Hearing loss can occur at any age, and is often impacted by the amount of noise in our daily life. For age related hearing loss it is recommended that a person have a baseline hearing test by age 60. That being said, if you are noticing more difficulty hearing or understanding, you should get a hearing test now. The test takes very little time and is completely painless and can spot a problem early when your options are greatest and before the impacts to your health, social and cognitive impacts can take hold.    Angela R. It's different for everyone. Age-related hearing loss starts to slowly develop around 50 years old, but that varies based on many factors (i.e. health, genetics, lifestyle, etc). Best thing to do is get your hearing checked every 5 years or so if you're under 50 years old, then maybe every 2 to 3 years after 50. Then you'll know if and when you need hearing aids. Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone
