What can I do about my hip pain?

I am a 41-year-old male and I have had bad hip pain for almost 2 weeks. Should I see a doctor?

I personally would consult with my chiropractor to see if it’s something they could help.
Yes, chiropractic has great results for hip pain!!! The nerves in the lower back/pelvic region control function of hip, also ice helps get rid of inflammation.
Anytime you have lingering pain, it is important to have an evaluation to determine the cause and severity of the condition. If it can be treated, then a plane would be presented and followed as recommended by our staff.
Definitely see a Doctor especially if it persists. Chiropractic can be very effective with hip pain. Many times the pain is in the lower spine and/or pelvis not the hip.
After 2 weeks, I would say yes.
The short answer is yes, you should probably see a doctor if your hip isn't improving. There are quite a few things that can cause pain in your hip and there's no way I can know more without getting a full history of what you feel and a proper examination.

I would recommend seeing a doctor that specifically addresses joint alignment and the muscular structures that attach to the hip joint. This can be a chiropractor, and osteopath or a PT. A sports medicine chiropractor specifically addresses muscular imbalances along with structural imbalances. There are chiropractors and osteopaths that don’t address the musculature, in my experience, which can be an issue that can lead to early onset of degenerative hip disease if left untreated. My concern if you were to go to a general practitioner is that they may only give you anti-inflammatories or pain medications without having the knowledge on how to address the root cause. The previously mentioned doctors will be able to assess the root cause of your hip pain. I hope this helps. Happy healing!

Absolutely
If there has been "no change" in your hip pain in two weeks, the answer is yes.
As in all medical cases, it depends on the cause of your pain.  Did you have trauma (a fall, car accident, sports injury, etc) or did it just ‘come on’?  You should see a physician, a doctor of chiropractic, a medical doctor, a DO or a nurse practitioner to help determine the cause and severity of your hip pain. Depending on the cause, any of these providers can provide a referral or a course of treatment if appropriate.  If you have hip pain with no apparent cause, please see a physician promptly!
I would suggest finding a chiropractor. They are great at addressing musculoskeletal issues conservatively without the need for anything invasive or prescriptions
Yes and have it X-Rayed
Yes, especially if you have had any trauma to the hip or low back. Blood lab tests would also be a good idea to rule out any systemic conditions. If that is all clear, I recommend seeing a Chiropractor to diagnose and treat any mechanical cause of the hip pain.
