A defect in the muscle layer of the artery.
Genetic.
Weakness and dilatation of blood vessels in the brain. May be congenital.
There is substantial research on the blood flow and vessel architecture changes as well as the genetic predispositions that can cause aneurysm formation. You can discuss this with the treating physician.
