Sometimes the colon contracts, pushing the stool out more rapidly than usual. This often happens after eating a meal and is called a gastro-colic reflex and is a fairly normal physiological activity of the gut. This is one of the main reasons why people have urgent bowel movements. This might sounds familiar to you. If it doesn't then you can get evaluated by a GI doctor in case something else is going on (e.g. if diarrhea is also happening).
