“What causes an infant to cough?”
My 11 month old infant just developed a cough that is only getting better very slowly. What's causing this? Should I take her to a doctor?

Coughs can be caused either by allergies or a virus. If others at home are sick, it’s probably from a virus. I would take him to your doctor to make sure he’s not wheezing. Hope he feels better.

Is there any fever? Any trouble breathing? If she is eating well and the cough is not interfering with daily activities, it could be mucus drainage and should get better as congestion clears. At her age, she will still be getting several URI which are viral until she builds up immunity. She does not have to see a doctor unless cough persists.
