It’s when a force is applied to that area of your body in order to realign the pelvis. That can be done manually (using hands) where you often hear and feel a ‘crack,’ or it can be done using an adjusting instrument which is a lighter force.
The pelvis is made by different bones added together by joints or tangential facets to make its shape. Following traumatic, positional, or other pathological conditions the joints between thees bones or facets become miss-alignment causing pain. Each condition has symptoms, a chiropractor who apply the right protocol will adjust the joints to the right position pain will get lost right away or if muscles have been in long time spasm might take more time to relax for this reason the adjustment some time is not one time deal.
The more accurate term for Chiropractors is Pelvic Adjustment. We don’t manipulate. Reason being is by definition manipulation is moving a joint only. Adjustment is moving a joint with purpose, accuracy and to realign.
Hello!
Pelvic manipulation refers to adjusting the sacroiliac joints when they are not moving properly.
Hope this helps!

Pelvic manipulation is exactly as it sounds. It is a chiropractic adjustment that involves manipulating the pelvis. There are many different techniques that chiropractors use to manipulate the pelvis. Some are non force procedures and some involve light to moderate force. They are all effective.
Pelvic manipulation is a safe and non invasive approach to mobilizing the pelvis. If you have pelvic pain or low back pain at the sacro iliac area, it may help alleviate the pain. It is fairly painless and is done by a professionally trained chiropractor.
Yes. There are a few structures that comprise the pelvis that can get “locked-up” and cause imbalance and discomfort. The pubis Symphsis, sacroiliac joints,
Hips and all and any surrounding tissues can be the primary of secondary cause and all have to be looked at.

Hello. Pelvic manipulation is quite simply manipulation of the joints of the pelvis. The bones of the pelvis are the 2 iliac bones and the sacrum between. The joints between the iliacs and the sacrum are called the sacroiliac joints and the joint between the iliacs in the front is called the symphysis pubis or"pubic bone". There are three joints in the pelvis which may be manipulated to correct any misalignment of those joints. Generally misalignment of any of those joints can have an effect on the surrounding or connected musculature.

All manipulations are a combination of working with the skeletal, musculature, ligament and nervous system. There are many ways of doing these manipulation. You need to have an evaluation done and let the Doctor tell you what is going to do.
Pelvic manipulation is the restoration of function and alignment to the pelvis. This is usually accomplished by adjusting the Sacroiliac joints and pubic symphysis when necessary.
