Knee pain has many causes. You'll need to see a sports Dr to make a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan
There is no one good answer it ultimately depends on the cause. Can range from rest, therapy, oral anti-inflammatories, bracing or sometimes other possibilities if there is a large injury.
Not a simple answer without knowing more, but first and most likely source starts with your foot. A stable arch support can make a big difference. If your foot is at all flat or rolls around, then your knee will twist side to side and become irritated. Past that or if swelling occurs, then get an orthopedic doc to have a look. Soccer shoes have zero or very little arch support. Does it occur when running in a good running shoe? Take you and your soccer shoes to a legitimate running store. Likely end up with an insert inside those shoes. Soccer guys don't like messing with their shoes, but seems after a couple of weeks you won't mind at all.
The quickest way to relieve knee pain is with ice and rest. Anti inflammatories such as advil also known as ibuprofen or motrin are very beneficial.
Thank you for this question. The answer to the question depends on the diagnosis, many problems have different solutions. There are ACL protection exercises that can be found readily online which I currently use as I am a soccer player as well. If it hurts and is not getting better, I would recommend a PM&R doctor or orthopedic surgeon.
Ice, elevate, good Hamstring/Quadriceps flexibility and strength.
Rest, ice, elevate, over-the-counter Tylenol alternating with ibuprofen or naproxen (if no allergies to these medications). Ice for 20 minutes every 2-3 hours. Compression, gentle range of motion. Weight bearing as tolerated. Typically may return to play once full motion without pain and good strength and balance.

An examination of the knee would need to be performed in order to figure out what component of the knee if being effected. Once the issue is figured out then further action can be taken to determine the best route of treatment.
Physical therapy would be the fastest way to get you back into the game. They’ll teach you how to properly warm up before a game, strengthening exercises for your weakness and Imbalances, and stretches for after the game. They may also be able to dry needle your knee muscles/tendons to decrease your pain entirely.
