Dentist Questions Toothaches

What should I do for a toothache?

I have a really bad toothache, and I can't go to the dentist until next week. What should I do for the pain until I go to the dentist?

Control the carbonated drinks and the sugar in your diet. Sometimes heat or cold makes the pain threshold much more obvious when there is a cavity involved. Warm salt water mouth rinses with a tablespoon of salt in a glass of water as warm as possible and spit it out; don't swallow it. Karma will get you through along with aspirin to alleviate any pain.
If you have a nasty toothache, it's nature's way of telling you something is seriously wrong. If you don't treat the tooth, the pain will probably get much worse. There are not any over-the-counter medications that will deal with this type of pain.
