He or she should be seen by a doctor for ruling out hardening of the artery. if he has chest pain after the daytime hours, call paramedics . do not drive the motor vehicle by yourself. Chew 4 baby aspirin while you wait for paramedic.
See your internist and cardiologist
1. If the pain is severe, and the person looks uncomfortable, call 911
2. If you have chewable aspirin, have the person chew 81 mg x 4
3. Obviously, if the person is driving, have them pull over immediately
Chest pain made worse with exertion or emotional distress and relieved with rest is concerning for angina and should not be ignored.

Chest pain accompanied by shortness of breath is worrisome for blood clots in the lungs and very concerning.

Pain between the shoulder blades radiating to the front could represent an aortic dissection, a potentially fatal tear in the aorta.

These three presentations should prompt one to seek emergency care at once.

First, have the person sit down and rest. If the pain resolves, then they should see their physician. If the pain continues or worsens, then you should call 911 and activate emergency services.
