“When do you get x-rays after oral surgery?”
I am a 23 year old female. I want to know when do you get x-rays after oral surgery?

Good afternoon,
Great question. Are you having any kind of sensitivity? Otherwise, it would be when you are due for your next 6 month check up.
Thank you,
Cynthia

It depends what procedure you had done. Some procedures require X-rays before and after, some don’t require any at all.

You typically do not need follow-up radiographs after oral surgery, unless the surgeon is checking for complete removal of a tooth or proper placement of an implant. We recommend Bite-Wing radiographs every 1-2 years and a Panoramic radiograph every 3-5 years depending on individual caries risk and need.
