Will toenail fungus go away on its own?

I am a 24-year-old male with toenail fungus. Will toenail fungus go away on its own? Should I see a doctor?

Usually not. See a local podiatry office will help.
It is very rare, but toenail fungus can go away on its own. The fungus however more likely to spread to adjacent toes or onto your skin.
Usually not, there are plenty of treatment options for toenail fungus that work very well that a doctor could prescribe for you. The best is the pill called Lamisil for 3 months it works very well.
This will progress if left untreated.
Sometimes. Biggest issue I see in office, is that it isn't a fungus. Instead it is a simple nail injury. Get it checked out locally.
All discolored toenails are not due to fungus. Have an experienced doctor evaluate and culture your toenails, and if you have an organism, they will decide how to treat it.
Likely not, but you must distinguish between nail damage from trauma and actual fungus. Visit your local dermatologist and discuss your options and diagnosis.
No
Unfortunately, toenail fungus doesn't go away by itself. And if you don't treat this fungal infection, there's a chance it could get worse and spread to the other toes. Your doctor will evaluate the toe, determine if it is a fungus or a damaged nail, and then give you a prescription medicine to apply to the toe to cure the fungus.
Toenail fungus is difficult to get rid of, even with the appropriate medical treatment. If you let it go, it will likely worsen and spread into other toes. Home remedies do not usually work. See a physician.
Toe nail fungus can have several causes. It will not likely go away on its own. I recommend you see a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) to discuss causes and treatment options
Fungus is an opportunistic organism and will rarely go away on its own. It's best to speak with your doctor about treatment options.
