  • Can coffee make my teeth become blackish?

Many things stain our teeth including coffee, tea, tobacco, spaghetti sauces, red wine, etc. Have your teeth professionally cleaned and they should be able to remove most stains. Professional whitening may help with the discoloration. READ MORE

  • What toothpaste helps build enamel?

If indicated, your dentist can prescribe a prescription tooth paste that will help. Prodent and Prevident are two of the name brands. These can stain children’s teeth. READ MORE

  • Are there any downsides to dental implants?

If you have enough bone in the area, Implants are a great replacement option for missing teeth. If the area does not have enough bone, sometimes we have to graft bone in the area. Check with your dentist and discuss any medications or systemic issues. My opinion only. Always seek a licensed dentist or MD’s opinion before treatment. READ MORE

  • How long is Invisalign treatment?

Treatment times will vary significantly between every patient. We take impressions and initial records and submit everything to Invisalign. They give us a report that tells us estimated treatment time and how many sets of trays that it will take to correct the gap. Visit a local orthodontist or general dentist for a consult. We offer free Invisalign consults at my office. My opinion only. Always seek a licensed dentist or MD’s opinion before treatment. READ MORE

  • How do I know if I have an infection after tooth extraction?

Dental infections should be evaluated by a medical professional to prevent spreading. Tenderness in the area is common, extreme pain is not. You may have a dry socket and it may need to be “packed” to help with the discomfort. If you notice swelling, have trouble breathing, fever, swollen neck, seek emergency care ASAP. My opinion only. Always seek a licensed dentist or MD’s opinion before treatment. READ MORE

  • Can I keep my wisdom teeth?

If you have plenty of room for the teeth, are able to keep them clean, and they are not causing any parafunctional problems (biting your cheek, causing periodontal issues, etc) I tend not to extract wisdom teeth prophykactically. If the wisdom teeth are coming in at an angle are causing issues, we extract them. My opinion only. Always seek a licensed dentist or MD’s opinion before treatment. READ MORE

  • Can sinus infections cause tooth pain?

Sinus infections can cause tooth pain. Sometimes the roots of the teeth are right next to the sinuses and pressure can build up in the sinus and cause discomfort in the teeth. I would follow up with an ENT and your dentist to rule out other causes of the tooth pain. READ MORE

  • Smile direct club or Invisalign?

I always recommend a trained, licensed dentist to monitor the movement of teeth. There are several things that can happen that if it goes unchecked, may cause problems that need to be corrected by an orthodontist. READ MORE

Warm salt water rinses, peridex, and mouthwashes are generally ok to use with a temporary crown. READ MORE

  • What is a bone graft?

Bone grafts are used for several reasons. Sometimes we need a wider place to put an implant, sometimes we need to fill in holes in the bone after a tooth is removed. The bone graft helps preserve the bone for several months while we are waiting for the socket to heal. READ MORE

  • Brackets on my braces came off while sleeping. What should I do?

Visit your orthodontist so he can rebond the bracket. You may have a deep bite. When you bite, you may be hitting on your brackets and cause them to break off. Bumpers may need to be put on your back teeth to prevent you from biting so deep. READ MORE

  • Can I be put to sleep for dental work while pregnant?

This is not a good option in my opinion. You should talk to your OBYN. READ MORE

  • Can wisdom teeth cause canker sores?

Yes. Pericoronitis is common with an erupting wisdom tooth. Sometimes there is not enough space for another toothbin the mouth and you bite your cheek. This can cause the ulceration in your mouth. READ MORE
