With a passion for her profession and over 25 years of experience, she is devoted to helping her patients achieve their dream smile. Her practice philosophy is to help her patients achieve optimal oral health, utilizing the highest standards of care in the most comfortable way possible.
Taking a boutique approach to patient care, Dr. Harriman and her team take ample time to listen to patient needs and build a treatment plan that supports each patient’s unique oral care goals. They are comprehensive in their service offering and proudly offer a variety of general, restorative and cosmetic dental services, spanning from essential checkups and cleanings, and beautiful cosmetic dental makeovers, to complex solutions for tooth loss.
Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, Dr. Harriman received her Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from the University of Guelph. She came to the United States to study dentistry and earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University. Earlier in her career, she spent a year and a half practicing dentistry and working with the Inuit community, in the Canadian Arctic.
Dr. Harriman continually strives to use the most modern techniques to offer her patients superior care, this includes offering Invisalign® Clear Aligners as part of her services.
With undivided attention and excellence in dental care, Dr. Harriman is a proud member of the American Academy of Clear Aligners , American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. She is currently a delegate to the Northern Virginia Dental Society. She has also given back to the community as a former delegate to the Maryland State Dental Association as well as acting as an appointee to the Budget and Finance Committee and the Membership Committee.
Dr. Harriman is also proud to be an instructor of CPR, training other dental colleagues and their staff.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Named “US Top Dentist” by Consumers Research Council of America yearly for the last 16 years, and most recently recognized as a 2021 Top Medical Professional by DC Luxury Magazine, Dr. Harriman regularly volunteers her time with the Mission of Mercy and Carpenter’s Shelter and other charitable organizations. Most recently, with the help of her children, she created and printed 3-D N95 masks and shields which they donated to support nurses, dentists, doctors, assistants, and EMS personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Away from the office, Dr. Harriman loves to spend time with her husband and three children in their home in Alexandria. She enjoys a variety of sports, including skiing, both water and downhill, rowing, tennis, and pilates. Another passion of hers is gardening. She loves to nurture and grow flowers and then arrange them to share with patients, brightening the office and their spirits.
