Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

Named “US Top Dentist” by Consumers Research Council of America yearly for the last 16 years, and most recently recognized as a 2021 Top Medical Professional by DC Luxury Magazine, Dr. Harriman regularly volunteers her time with the Mission of Mercy and Carpenter’s Shelter and other charitable organizations. Most recently, with the help of her children, she created and printed 3-D N95 masks and shields which they donated to support nurses, dentists, doctors, assistants, and EMS personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Away from the office, Dr. Harriman loves to spend time with her husband and three children in their home in Alexandria. She enjoys a variety of sports, including skiing, both water and downhill, rowing, tennis, and pilates. Another passion of hers is gardening. She loves to nurture and grow flowers and then arrange them to share with patients, brightening the office and their spirits.
