Hi, Dentures actually sit on top of gums. Partial dentures take support form teeth using different anchors such as clasps and rest seats. But all dentures sit on top of gums/bone. Hope this helps. READ MORE
What is a fixed dental bridge?
Hi A fixed bridge is a prosthesis which us usually replaces missing teeth using the adjacent (next to the missing space ) teeth - in front and behind the space - as anchors . The anchor teeth or abutment teeth are prepared as per a crown and the final prosthesis will cover these teeth ( like a crown or cap) and replace the missing teeth ( all three are fused together) . What is the best teeth whitening treatment at the dentist?
Hi, Not sure the best... The most common and cost effective is take-home bleaching trays. Teeth with a gray undertone won’t bleach as well. Teeth will also reach a limit to their whitened effect. The more you bleach doesn’t mean your teeth will whiten to no end. Hope this helps. READ MORE

Hi A dental cleaning will remove tartar, and plaque . Both of which cause stains. A cleaning will also remove surface stains . So in essence it will whiten your teeth but not in the same manner as teeth whitening . READ MORE

Does hydrogen peroxide kill cavities?
I don't know of any studies suggesting H2O2 stops cavities. The benefits of hydrogen peroxide is having an effervescent quality. This means it bubbles, so possibly helps bring some bacteria from below the gums to the surface, but I am unsure of concentration and effects on the periodontal tissues. So, please discuss with your dentist. SDF, stannous diamine fluoride, has been shown to arrest cavities when applied. Please discuss with your dentist. Hope this helps. READ MORE
How long do composite fillings last?
Generally, we assume resin fillings to last around 5 plus years, but a lot depends on several factors: the individual’s home care, diet, and how the dentist applies it, has all decay been removed, etc. We have seen resin in the mouth after 10-15 years holding just fine. Hope this helps. READ MORE
What happens if you get a cavity with braces?
Braces require much more time for maintenance. You can also get cavities during your orthodontic treatment. Regular check-ups and cleaning are always mandated. If you get a cavity, the orthodontist will remove the wire and possibly bracket allowing the restorative dentist to do a filling. The orthodontist will then place back the bracket and wire. How long do dental implants last?
Dental implants are 98% successful. Usually, issues arise within the first two months of placement. Peri-implantitis is the main issue. This can arise due to bad or improper occlusion or bite. Poor oral hygiene, uncontrolled health issues, i.e., diabetes, smoking, and poor oral health are just some issues causing implants to fail. Can braces tighten loose teeth?
Braces straighten teeth and help with your bite. Periodontally affected teeth, bone loss and recession are not treated with braces. If a tooth is loose it usually means there are bone loss and weak gums. Hence NOT a candidate for braces. Braces move teeth through bone so your foundation, bone, and gums need to be strong. How can I make my teeth move faster with braces?
Hi, There are some techniques your dentist or orthodontist can employ to speed things up if the environment is ideal. But unconventional. There are also devices such as acceledent (and other similar ones) which supposedly speed things up. You actually bite into the appliance for 20 minutes a day and it helps move the teeth, but do speak with your orthodontist as they may not endorse this. Hope this helps. READ MORE
