Surgery for an inguinal hernia can vary drastically. Part of the factors that affect the time include the size of the hernia, whether it’s been fixed before, and the experience of the surgeon. Routinely in my hands the surgery is usually less than an hour, but is about a half a day affair from the time you come into the time you’re on your way home.
inguinal hernia surgery length can vary. typically open inguinal hernia surgery is about 1-2hrs. Minimally invasive approaches range from 1.5-2.5hrs. These are all variable however based on the size of the hernia and how long you have had it for as both of those can make surgery slightly longer
It is very dependent on the size and location of the hernia as well as the type of surgery (open vs minimally invasive). As a general rule I would quote between 1-2 hours for a hernia surgery back in the operating room and that includes going to sleep and waking up after the surgery is performed. It is important to understand that the length of time can vary based on multiple factors.

This is a general answer and may not directly apply to your. It is important to consult with your surgeon regarding your specific situation.
