I strongly emphasize daily use of sunscreen to prevent darkening of this pigmentation even with casual sun exposure. Also, there are various prescription creams that can be used to help control acne that will also help fade pigmentation. Last, chemical peels or laser treatments can also be done to help with pigmentation if you are very bothered by it.
