Dr. Linda Berry, DC

Chiropractor

Dr. Linda Berry is a chiropractor practicing in San Rafael, CA. Dr. Berry empowers her patients, students, readers, and listeners to transform stress into fuel to power their lives and dreams. She knows how because at 24 years old she was paralyzed from an automobile accident. Released from the hospital in a wheelchair she used long leg braces to stand and underarm crutches to walk. Before her dream life was taken away, Dr. Linda was a modern dancer, choreographer, and purple belt in Karate. She rose up from her wheelchair to help others heal with her compassion, skills, and knowledge as a chiropractor, nutritionist, and trauma healing specialist. Her database of knowledge spans centuries from Ancient Taoism to cutting-edge medical therapies. For 34 years, Dr. Linda has helped thousands find their way back to health in private practice, with her book Internal Cleansing, Crown Books, and through videos, articles, and audio programs as well as in classes. Dr. Linda is an internationally known author. Her book Internal Cleansing has been in print for 25 years. Dr. Linda has inspired audiences with her presentations in the SF Bay area. She’s appeared on local and Internet radio stations and television. And Dr. Linda has been featured nationally on NPR, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News.

Good question,

One patient I suggested she lead with her heart and that immediately improved her posture. Other patients I teach a series of exercises with a styrofoam roll to improve posture, and that can take a couple of weeks to months, depending how frequently they do the exercises I taught them. And for others, it's related to their attitude. If they don't want to engage with the work their posture may never improve.

That's a good question. It depends on how often it's re-injured. If it is re-injured a lot it will never heal on its own. I saw some research that says that doing exercises and getting care for the knee from a physical therapist or chiropractor who works on you was better than getting surgery. But you have to go to somebody who knows how to work with knees to get those good results. Just doing nothing, it may never heal.
