Arthritis like joints and sore sore muscles?

I'm 71 and a retired farmer. In the last 3 or 4 years, most of my joints seem to have filled with arthritis pain and my muscles scream with soreness. This really does not seem normal..is there anything else to look at other than old age?

Yes. there are some diseases that typically start after the age of 50 and usually present after the age of 70 such as PMR ( Polymyalgia Rheumatica). If you have not been evaluated then please try to see a rheumatologist.
Sir, when I see a farmer in my office, I know there is something wrong
Working as you did you have been susceptible to developing degenerative arthritis / osteoarthritis
Additionally, other inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and polymyalgia rheumatica need to be considered

Suggest seeing your doctor and explaining how you feel
Possible rheumatologist autoimmune disease, thyroid, basic age, gender appropriate recommended screening
Hello!

Thank you so much for your question. Although this arthritis could be simply osteoarthritis or degenerative arthritis (“ old age “) arthritis, it could be something different.

The best way to figure this out is to visit with your local board certified rheumatologist.

Thanks so much!
