Can myopia in children be corrected?

My daughter has myopia. Can myopia in children be corrected?

While myopia cannot be corrected, there are FDA approved therapies that can prevent the progression of myopia and some options that can eliminate her need for glasses and contacts while she sleeps. I would ask your Optometrist about these options.
There is some evidence that childhood myopia may be mitigated by the chronic use of low concentration atropine eye drops. However, this treatment is controversial. Reshaping the corneas with rigid contact lenses probably doesnt achieve long lasting results.
Myopia can be corrected with glasses, contact lenses and/or surgery.
