Does the pap smear break my hymen?

I am Muslim and a virgin (never had any type of sex before). Breaking the hymen on the first intercourse is a big deal. I just had a pelvic exam and it was super painful to the point where the doctor couldn't perform the test. I am scared that he might've broken my hymen. Would that be possible?

P.S: He didn't finish the test and I informed him that I never had sex before.

If you did or didn't...it wouldn't be the fault of the doctor performing the procedure. You could break your hymen naturally riding a bike, or trying to catch your balance. I understand your religious concerns but life doesn't work like that. Try to find happiness in your health.
No worries the exam didn’t break your hymen
No, that should not happen with a pelvic exam. A smaller speculum would usually be used.
If you have been sexually actively it should not. Everyone is made differently & the hymen can also be different in different women. There are different sized speculum’s used to do the exam. There is an option to use a smaller speculum for the exam. Your Doctor will have to use his judgement on this. If your hymen opening is very small, there is an outpatient operation than can open it up some. That would would help to use tampons or if you became sexually active.
Generally you do not need a pap until you are sexually active. A gentle speculum exam can be done without breaking the hymen. I don't think you should worry.
