In my opinion definitely wouldn’t recommend adjusting your low back on your own. What I do recommend is you going to see your chiropractor.
If you would like to make your pain worse, sure you can adjust your own back. Not meaning to sound snarky but even chiropractors cannot adjust themselves, as there is no way to determine the crucial elastic barrier on yourself. Chiropractors are specifically trained and educated in the specific anatomy of the spine, muscles, and nervous system that comprise the lower back. We have to be able to feel where the joint locks out to know when to adjust and that is impossible to do on yourself. As you most likely do not have that training, and as I have said, even if you did, you still would not be able to adjust yourself safely. Please do yourself a favor and find a good chiropractor to adjust your low back.
I do not recommend adjusting your own spine. Doctors of chiropractic do an exam and then determine which segments to adjust. <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> Virus-free.www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2>
Unfortunately you cannot. Many will say if they resist themselves a certain way they can here a “crack” and feel relief. The problem with this is you can exacerbate an arthritic condition by moving the moves that move too much over those that move too little, the guys that need to be moved. Also there is a risk that a disc may be drying out and twisting yourself may put you at risk of tearing that disc.
You can stretch your back to an extent that you will probably hear or feel the bones moving. However, you are usually moving the bone above or below the one that is misaligned and stuck. This causes the muscles and ligaments to be damaged and the discomfort will last much longer. It will continually come back. If I could adjust my back by myself I would have been doing that the past 30 years. Instead I go see a chiropractor about every 7 to 10 days to keep a healthy spine, nervous system, and immune system; they are intimately intwined. You can not get the proper line of correction to correctly align your spine by twisting yourself. Just cant happen. Dr. Shanti
