Hi, creative and somatic therapies can be incredibly effective for working with anxiety and alleviating symptoms. The length of treatment depends on your unique goals and needs. If you are in the United States then you can search for a provider who is licensed in your state. If you are within California - I have availability to accept new clients - please visit www.sylvansart.com for more information and to contact me directly.

CBT is great for anxiety and can help mitigate the issues associated with it. However, please keep this in mind. Overcoming symptoms of anxiety takes time and commitment. As long as you invest the time and practice the coping skills you are exposed to in therapy, you will be able to gain control over anxiety with the CBT methods used.

Therapy requires the participant to implement what is practiced and recommended in therapy so it varies.
Sorry for the delay. There are many different types of anxiety, PTSD, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder. About 70% of depression and anxiety can be treated by life style changes. At least 7 hours of sleep, physical exercise, reducing caffeine intake and stress management skill. I recommend 3 books, From panic to power. Rewire your anxious brain and wherever you go there you are. Anxiety and depression are very treatable. But see a good counselor.
Hi! CBT is typically a "short term" therapeutic approach. However treatment length typically varies depending on the severity of symptoms. You could expect anywhere from 12-25 sessions in most cases.

It depends on the person and the current thoughts. For some, I've seen gradual improvement in the first few weeks or month, while others have started seeing improvement 2-3 months. How willing are you to change your thoughts? How often do you practice awareness to be able to change your thoughts? How intense is your anxiety? How frequent is your anxiety? Are you using breathing exercises daily? These are just a few questions to ask yourself.

CBT can take as little as 6 sessions to begin to show positive results. I recommend a minimum of 6 sessions using CBT and at least 4 more as follow up for potential challenges.

CBT can work effectively within the first 6-8 weeks and about 12 weeks to work consistently.

How long does CBT take to work? Your CBT program could be anywhere between 5 and 20 weeks, depending on your problem and the treatment program you and your therapist agree on.

Length of treatment for any concern varies by patient. Often, a course of treatment for anxiety is as little as 3 months (12 weekly sessions). But it would depend on the type of anxiety or specific cause of anxiety. Duration of your treatment course could be longer or shorter. Find a psychologist who has specialty training in cognitive behavioral therapy; this is the most effective and shortest treatment approach for anxiety.
It's hard to predict because it depends on how dedicated and intentional the client is in improving his or her anxiety. No matter how excellent the therapist or treatment is, the most important aspect of therapy is the client's commitment to change. In general, with the commitment in tact and the client being open to the suggestions of the therapist, I think a client can start experiencing some reduction in their anxiety within a few weeks. Often it takes a lifetime to become conditioned in a way that has developed an anxious mind; therefore, it's impossible to completely go away in just a few sessions.
