I have a sharp lower back pain?

I’ve been experiencing sharp lower back pain only on the left side of my body. The pain also goes down the left side of my bottom and to the back of my thigh as well. I should mention that I have scoliosis however this is a new type of pain that I’ve never experienced.

It sounds like Sciatic nerve pain. It is significant that you have Scoliosis, as this misalignment could be exerting pressure on the Sciatic nerve. You should get an X-ray to determine the current severity of your Scoliosis and the possibility of improving your Scoliosis and symptoms through Chiropractic Care.
Without examination, most likely this represents either myofascial pain due to scoliosis or a new disc that may be irritating a nerve root on the left side. you should consult a physiatrist or a pain management specialist for further investigation and management. it may require PT, medications, and or spinal injections.

I am so sorry you are having this problem. You will need a medical workup.
Sounds like you have a pinched nerve causing pain to travel into your buttocks and thigh. Chiropractic treatment can definitely help alleviate your pain and should be able to get you back to normal. If you like to make an appointment.
This sounds like referred pain from a lumbar facet and needs a proper evaluation from a trained chiropractor. https://www.coxtechnic.com/physicians.aspx
May have a nerve pinch.Best to get an accurate diagnosis. An orthopedic surgeon would be a good choice
Hello. Please excuse the tardiness of this. I am sorry to read about your lower back pain. Thanks for sharing your issue with the FATD community. Thanks for allowing me to give you my thoughts, tips and suggestions for you. Lower back pain is so common. I would not worry about it being a life-threatening occurrence. As a 21-year-old, I assume that your bones have stopped growing. Therefore, if your scoliosis is not too severe, it should not progress or cause pain such as this. However, I would certainly recommend stretching and a fascial training program to coax your spine back to a straighter alignment and with less pain.

I hope this helps.

You have a pinched nerve in your lower back, due to muscular contractions, causing pulling off the bone into the nerve root. This usually occurs at the L-5 neurological level. You have developed sciatica because of the L-5 neural impingement, which manifests itself where the nerve exits in the middle of the butt muscle with pain radiating to the back of the knee. This situation can be helped with connective tissue manipulation, bony analysis to determine the spacial relationship between the bone and nerve root, and direction of impingement, which will determine the direction of specific treatment. Naprapathic Medicine has been highly successful with this type of analysis and treatment.
This new sharp pain could represent some irritation around the nerves that leave your back and go into your leg. If you are not experiencing any weakness in that leg, then you can just rest and take NSAIDs for a couple weeks. The symptoms usually get better with this treatment and physical therapy after 4-6 weeks. However, if you have any weakness in your leg or if the symptoms persist, then you should be evaluated by a spine specialist such as a physiatrist, orthopedic surgeon, or neurosurgeon more urgently.
I recommend stretching your hamstrings, taking anti-inflammatory medications, and starting some physical therapy. If it continues I do recommend evaluation by a physician and some X-rays to re-evaluate your spine anatomy.

Consider seeing a spine specialist for in person consultation. If you have nerve symptoms, imaging maybe necessary.
