I have a throat infection?

I have a throat infection and was given penicillin yesterday but got covid today. Do I carry on taking penicillin and how long for?

Medications: Just pencillin was yesterday
Conditions: None

I don’t know the specifics of your condition. It is possible to have both COVID and a bacterial throat infection, so I would not look at this as an either/or situation. Best suggestion I can offer is to ask the provider who is treating your sore throat.

Was your throat infection diagnosed by the doctor looking or by culture results? Do you still have tonsils? If judged to be a bacterial nasopharyngeal infection, continue the antibiotics for ten days. Antibiotics are indicated for bacterial complications of COVID.
