Bleeding occurs most commonly from repeated trauma (picking) and dryness. Saline is helpful, but water based ointment such as aquaphor can be better. Apply this to the nose 2-3 times a day on a q tip inside the nostril for at least a week. You can use a nasal decongestant spray such as afrin, if you do have a bleed. Spray the nose and then hold pressure on the soft part of the nose for 5 minutes without peeking. This will help stop the bleeding by allowing vasoconstriction.
Hello,

Recommend continue visits with ENT until issue is resolved as there are many causes.
Thank you.

Most nosebleeds are anterior, 90%, from fragile or inflamed vessels. Bleeding can be worse if taking aspirin, ibuprofen, and other anti-coagulants. and liver disease. Many nosebleeds occur in cold weather due to nasal blood vessel dilation.Dryness, Picking and rubbing traumatizes these vessels as well. Advise to limit alcohol intake and caffeine intake. Apply gently with a Q-tip some vaseline or bacroban ointment circularly in the first inch of the nostril three or more times a day. Can coat a small cotton ball with same and place in nostril to keep tissue from drying out. No nose blowing or heavy lifting. No smoking. Also go back to the ENT for potential nasal endoscopy and cautery.
