Numbness in hands and feet with back pain and inflammation?

Why would my body ache so my back and my hands and feet keep going numb? Especially my hands go numb for long periods of time? I’m a driver for a plumbing supply company and missed work today so the fact I haven’t really been able to feel my hands so didn’t really feel safe driving a big diesel truck. I'm curious what my diagnosis is and if I made the right decision to miss work?

You probably have either trouble with circulation or with the function of the peripheral nerves (nerves that control feeling in the hands and feet). The most common causes of peripheral neuropathy are diabetes, alcohol, underactive thyroid, inherited, and low B12 levels.
I think you partially made the right decision by missing work. The missing part of your decision is to not have called your primary or neurologist to have you further evaluated. It is difficult to relate your hands to your back problem. You may be experiencing a broad array of problems that need to be further evaluated and treated. So I would suggest having those issues looked at and treated accordingly.
You made the right decision. You need to see your primary doctor or neurologist if this has been going on for a while. If this happened suddenly with numbness in your hands and feet, you need to go to the emergency room.
