Urologist Questions Pathologist

Perineural invasion identified in prostate biopsy after prostatectomy?

I recently had a robotic prostatectomy. The pathologist reports that perineural invasion was identified. What are some of my next steps? What can be done on my side of things? Is this a concern?

Perineurial invasion means that the prostatic adenocarcinoma extended beyond the prostate. This can put you at risk of metastatic prostate cancer, however, not necessary. Talk to your urologist, the one who did the prostatectomy and follow their recommendation. Most of the time they give radiation therapy. Then again I recommend for you to talk to you dr. Thank you.
