Red ankles?

I have recently noticed that my ankles are bright red all the way around, and they itch. At the back of my ankle, my skin is very thin, if I gently rub them they will bleed. Is there some cream or medication I can get?

Skin changes, redness, itching, and thinning can be indicative of various underlying issues that require professional evaluation.

Hi, you can start with calomine cream twice in the daily time, like morning and afternoon. Then apply over the counter cortisone 10 cream at night before bed. if this don't improve it in 7-10 days, see a dermatologist.

It's best to be evaluated by a specialist
Sounds like it could be a pooling of blood due to venous disease. It can often manifest as skin darkening/redness, wounds, itchiness and other symptoms. However, there are causes that can be contributing such a skin rash for allergic reaction (new socks or shoes or other irritants). Go and get it checked out!
There are several potential causes, but the most common would be the result of varicose veins (venous congestion)Consult with a Board Certified Podiatric Surgeon who is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.
You should see a dermatologist
Sounds like you need compression house.
For something such as this, a physician would need to evaluate your condition in person. Many skin conditions can look similar. Because of this it is imperative that you evaluated in person to determine the underlying condition. Your physician may prescribe a cream or if the condition is severe, a biopsy may be performed for a more accurate diagnosis.
Sounds like inflamed dry skin. Try Cerave moisturizing lotion. Apply 3-4 times per day.

Good afternoon. The redness may be a result of a dermatitis. Before being prescribed a medication you should be evaluated by a doctor to ensure the proper treatment.

Hello, thank you for contacting me.

I can’t recommend any medications without seeing the condition in person. There would be a lot of differential diagnosis from what you just described to me. If you experience fever, severe pain, chills, chest pain or shortness of breath, please visit nearest emergency department.
Thank you so much.
It could be a fungal infection, it could be some sort of dermatitis (skin irritation/reaction/inflammation). It could be related to venous insufficiency or other circulatory issues. It could be related to Diabetes or another medical problem. Rather than guess what to treat this condition with, it would be in your best interest to visit a Podiatrist or a Dermatologist in you area to have the skin condition properly evaluated. This will insure you are treating the correct pathology and that there is nothing more serious going on.
I reccommend eucrisa skin cream for thin fragile skin
It appears you may have a vascular problem secondary from venous stasis. You will need to keep your skin moist with lotion or a cream, and seek medical advice.
This scenario requires medical attention. Please have this examined by a qualified specialist.
I recommend you be evaluated by a Dermatologist or a foot and ankle specialist (podiatrist) for diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
