I am leaving the country for a month and I wear a pacemaker. Should I have a pacemaker checkup before traveling?

Would not be a bad idea if older than a year or two.
It depends on when your pacemaker was last checked. Do you know whether you are totally pacemaker dependent or not? If you have had a pacemaker check within the last two months and you are not 100% pacemaker dependent, then you probably don’t need to be rechecked. If you are pacemaker dependent or if it has been a while since your pacer was checked, I would recommend an evaluation before you leave.
Yes, if you have not had the device checked in the last 6 months to 1 year and/or are unsure of how much battery life is left.
