Shoulder pain?

I had muscle knots under my left shoulder blade that caused extreme pain. I got someone to break many of them up and massage them out to my left shoulder.
I do not have any more pain with my shoulder blade, but now with my shoulder. I cannot lift my arm much above my head, it is very tight all around my shoulder, including under my arm (arm pit), and am unable to reach around to my back (I cannot undo my bra).
The pain is a burning sensation that lasts minutes afterward. There aren't any popping sounds.
Now when I lift my arms up, one shoulder is about 2" higher than the other, when I have both arms by my side, they are even.
This has been going on for about 3 months.

You need to see an orthopaedic surgeon for an evaluation.
You most likely have a frozen shoulder/adhesive capsulitis! You should take oral NSAIDS/Advil/Aleve and perform a home exercise program by heating the shoulder in a hot shower/heating pad and performing passive range of motion/stretching exercises followed by 20 minutes of ice 2-3 times a day.If your shoulder doesn't regain it's range of motion and you continue to be symptomatic you should be seen by an orthopedic/shoulder surgeon to contemplate an intra-articular glenohumeral cortisone injection followed by formal shoulder physical therapy and a shoulder home exercise program. In the future if your shoulder fails to respond to maximum conservative modalities you would be a candidate for a shoulder MRI and possible shoulder arthroscopic intervention/capsular release and other corrections as indicated at the time of diagnostic shoulder arthroscopy and burscoscopy.
Hello. Your symptoms are those of adhesive cspsulitis. Also called a frozen shoulder. This can come about from a mild muscle strain or injury to the Rotator cuff. This can be very debilitating and a common complaint that brings patients to the doctor is not being able to get to their back or get items from a high cabinet. The treatment is time and therapy. Light massage, heat, ice and gentle progressive exercise. Performing exercise in a pool or shower can be very effective. If you are over 6-8 weeks with your discomfort I would consider seeing an orthopedic surgeon to evaluate and confirm the diagnosis. Surgery is rare unless this goes on too long or you have a significant tear. Good luck.
You need to see an orthopedic specialist and get an examination and X-ray. You can have something as simple as bursitis which is causing the problem (frozen shoulder).
