Swelling in pinky finger?

I woke up today and my right pinky finger was (and still) is partially swollen. The swollen area is in the middle of the finger, in the middle phalanx area. If I stretch the finger (tip of the finger going upwards), the area becomes white. I do not know if something bit me in my sleep or if it's something else but it's really bothering me. Any ideas what it could be?

Your swollen pinky finger could be due to several reasons, including:

Possible Causes:
Bug bite – Swelling and color change could mean an allergic reaction.
Mild infection – If there's redness, warmth, or tenderness, it could be an early infection.
Joint inflammation – If you have any past injuries or arthritis, this could cause swelling.
Poor circulation – Swelling that turns white when stretched may indicate circulation issues.
What to Do:
Apply ice for 10–15 minutes to reduce swelling.
Keep the hand elevated to reduce fluid buildup.
Check for bites or cuts—if there's pain or spreading redness, see a doctor.
If swelling worsens or persists for days, get a medical checkup.
