Trouble talking?

I have trouble talking, sometimes I can barely make a sound, and others I'm about 85% normal. I have mucus from my nose to my throat. I think my vocal cords are coated with mucus. What can I take to remedy the problem?

Go see a otolaryngologist who specializes in the voice. They will be able to help you. You do not want to self medicate your self. Good luck.
Treat any allergies. Drink at least two quarts of water a day. Do not clear you throat (creates more mucus). No smoking, little or no alcohol. Check living space humidity. May have age-related presbylaryngeal symptoms. See ENT for endoscopy.
ANYONE WITH A VOICE PROBLEM LIKE THIS NEEDS AN INDIRECT/DIRECT LARYNGOSCOPIC EXAM OF THEIR VOCAL CORDS. THIS IS DONE BY A MIRROR EXAM/FLEXIBLE SCOPE. THE PROBLEM COULD BE A POLYP, A CANCER, OR A VOCAL CORD PARALYSIS. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY OF DIAGNOSING OR TREATING THIS WITHOUT A VISUALIZATION. NEED TO SEE AN OTOLARYNGOLOGIST, AND URGENTLY IF YOU HAVE EVER SMOKED CIGARETTES.
