Optimal diet for conception and pregnancy centers on whole vegetables, whole fruits, lean meats, egg whites, and some whole grains. Plant fats are healthier fats. Mineral balance is essential too. Little salt but more fruit derived magnesium and potassium and calcium. Calorie intake should not exceed 2000 per day.
I don't recommend a specific diet. I recommend a lifestyle that includes a diet with at least 2 cups of fruit and 2 cups if vegetables (rich in green, garlic and onions) daily, at least 8 oz protein and appropriate carbs that are whol grain. Low in sugars drinks (juice, sports drink, soda) not daily. At least 40 - 70 oz water per day.
