Rest and use ice for 20 minutes to reduce swelling. We offer free consult on first visit.
That would be a fantastic question for the Chiropractor that will be adjusting you. They will know your specific situation and be able to give you post care instructions.
In my office, you would get a mechanical spinal massage, which everyone loves, and an appropriate, low-level laser therapy.

It’s a good idea to walk for about 20 minutes after an adjustment before jumping back in your car or sitting for an extended period. After that just avoid strenuous exercise and try to be relaxed and take in the adjustment. Remember to breathe. That’s all.
Walk and move the spine, but don't lift heavy weights for at least 20 minutes.
It’s always a good idea to drink plenty of water following an adjustment. If there is any soreness following the adjustment ice is usually my go to plan.

Depending on the reason for your visit, whether it’s a serious condition or just to relieve minor pain or discomfort, your doctor will explain how many visits you will need and add other treatments if necessary. But you should ask your doctor what you should do at home to help maintain your health. There should be a treatment plan established.
Follow the treatment plan. If you have a condition/diagnosis, this information is important to let you know why your back is hurting. The plan will help you alleviate or decrease the pain or condition.
Drink plenty of water. When you receive a chiropractic adjustment, your muscles and bones are moved and stimulated. Keep moving. Move carefully. Do your exercises. Rest. Follow the plan.
Your Chiropractor will usually give you instructions on what to do after your adjustment. I recommend you ask your Chiropractor what their home care advice is.
