This question can only be determined based upon what type of glaucoma you have, of which there are many. Eye drops and/or surgery are 2 treatment options that can only be evaluated by a glaucoma specialist. The bottom line is that you want your eye pressures to be as low and as safe as possible. Your optic nerves, corneal thickness, visual field tests, age, health, medications, and refractive status will determine which treatments will be best and which will work for you at the time.
