During treatment for infectious pink eye (conjunctivitis), you'll be advised to temporarily stop wearing your contact lenses. It's OK to start wearing your contacts again once you've completed your treatment, your eye is no longer pink and you've completed recommended follow-up with your provider
If infection you mean corneal ulcer from contact lenses Then wait till off antibiotics and wait a week to let the cornea heal prior to trying contact. If you mean conjunctivitis wait till eyes not red and no discharge then wait a few more days to try contacts. If contacts bother you when you put them in then keep them out and see an eyecare professional.
I do not dispense or work with contact lenses I am an oculolastic surgeon- cosmetic and reconstructive eye surgery Best to ask whoever dispenses your contacts or whoever treated your infection Dr. Bortz
You should resume wearing your contact lenses when the infection is completely resolved. After a careful examination, your doctor will indicate when the right time is for you.
