That will depend on the surgeon. Some surgeons will have you wait a number of weeks before going to physical therapy, others may have you go soon after surgery. It all depends on the type of surgery and the surgeon performing the surgery.
Depends on what procedure you had
Typically, your Surgeon's preference. Usually, 6-8 weeks after. Your surgery.
Usually PT will start about 2-4 weeks after a rotator cuff surgery. You want enough time to heal wounds which is around 10-14 days prior to movement that could jeopardize it. Some other surgeries, like formal fractures or breaks, may require longer non-weight bearing times. Speak to your surgeon about your surgery and what time frame he recommends for the specific procedure you are having Dr Garcia
This is completely dependent on the extent of the surgery
Hi, every surgeon will have a rehab protocol that they follow for their patients. Protocols differ based on the type of shoulder surgery you might be having with some them needing therapy soon after the surgery while some requiring no movements for first 4 weeks and then starting on therapy after that. Thank you.
