Why does my foot still hurt after bunion surgery?

I had bunion surgery 2 months ago. My foot still hurts. Is it normal?

It needs an evaluation. This can be done with a Zoom consultation.
This depends on type of bunionectomy, bone quality, any arthritis and other factors. If the bunionectomy involved cutting the bone then it may take more then 8 weeks for all pain to resolve. I would recommend you discuss this with your surgeon and make sure all is healing appropriately. Good luck!
This is not unusual. Bunion surgeries will usually cause discomfort for several months and I warn my patients they may be sore for up to 6 months. Generally, long-term results are good.
