After five weeks of completing my braces treatment my tooth hurts.

I just finished my braces treatment however after removing the braces, my front two teeth are hurting. There is also sensitivity in my teeth now. What should I do?

You should definitely make sure you are wearing your retainers as instructed and make an appointment to see the doctor that performed your treatment. At sensitivity toothpaste may also help. These usually take a few days before you notice the effects.
Hello, first I would make sure you aren’t using any whitening products. A classic sign is sensitivity and most patients will whiten the teeth after treatment. I would strongly recommend that you have the doctor check your teeth and retainers for any problems and make sure everything looks good clinically. I personally have seen times where a minor distortion in a retainer can put pressure on teeth where we don’t want it which can lead to discomfort. I hope this helps!
Review what's going on with your orthodontist and the orthodontist may suggest taking X-rays. Frequently, people do not wear their retainers 22 out of 24 hours, thus teeth are moving back and forth instead of being stabilized by the retainers.
It's hard to say exactly what is causing this problem without seeing it in person. I would see your dentist to check for cavities or decalcification. But what you are complaining about can happen for various reasons. You can try Sensidyne toothpaste, which may help if it's just sensitivity. However, if there is an underlying problem, seek the advice of your dentist.
Hope that helps.
This is atypical. Please consult with your orthodontist.
The discomfort could be caused by normal wear with the retainer. Make sure you do not skip days wading them too because that could cause the pain due to teeth moving. Finally, if your front teeth are hitting hard with the opposing teeth when you bite down this can also cause discomfort. I would recommend going back to your orthodontist to check your bite and they can usually adjust it after the braces come off.
I would highly recommend that you return to your orthodontist to have them evaluate this.
A frequent cause is your front teeth are bumping a little hard in your bite as your teeth and bite have settled. Your orthodontist should check your clearance. It is a common occurance.
Go let your orthodontist know about your issues first. The orthodontist can either take care of them or will refer you to a general dentist to help.
Thanks!

I would follow up with your orthodontist and primary care dentist. Treatment options are available to help reduce sensitivity, but I would ultimately depend on the cause of your discomfort. Hope this helps... Dr. B.
Great question. Having teeth sensitivity immediately after removed braces is very common. Assuming that you do not have any cavities on your teeth, I would recommend using sensodyne toothpaste. Use it for a month, try to stay away from cold and sugary food for now. If sensitivity does not improve, have a consultation with your general dentist.

It is normal for the teeth to be sensitive after or during Orthodontic treatment, however this is temporarily and it should only last for a couple of months. As far as pain of your front teeth, that is something you should check with your dentist or orthodontist about.
I would follow up with your Orthodontist/General Dentist.
Have you discussed this with your orthodontist? That should be your first step. Your doctor should be able to evaluate you and address your concerns.
