“Bleeding from rectum?”
This morning at 10:30 am, I had nausea, stomach cramps, and diarrhea. Now I am feeling somewhat better but am bleeding from my rectum. It is a stream of blood only, no feces. This is the 1st time this has happened. I felt fine this morning before my upset stomach. I do not have medical insurance and didn’t know if I should go to the ER or wait it out. (Food poisoning?)

Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing if this is serious (like cancer) or just food poisoning without a work up. Your age is such that you should get a colonoscopy anyways. Probably best to see a GI physician and let him/her work you up.
