“Can chiropractors fix scoliosis?”
My 15 year old daughter has scoliosis. What treatments can help with it? Can chiropractors fix scoliosis?

Depending on the severity of the scoliosis and the cause, a chiropractor may be able to help you with some of the problems that come along with scoliosis.
Not every chiropractor agrees on it. But CBP (Chiropractic Bio Physics) practitioners are probably the best bet.

Scoliosis in a young person often corrects itself. To help it along, core exercises, especially isometric (contracting core muscled without moving) can be really helpful to even out the stresses on either side of the spine
and help it straighten. Chiropractic can help by getting the spine moving and reduce the load on the curved parts of the spine. In our clinic, we have helped completely correct scoliosis in many young patients. Here is a

Scoliosis is a complicated and can be difficult to manage. Some chiropractors are scoliosis specialists, most are not. There are certain treatments that have been shown to slow progression and in some cases reduce curvature, such as traction, bracing, and a combination of adjusting, stretching, and exercises.
You can find a chiropractor who is certified in "Chiropractic Biophysics" and "ScoliBrace certified" for a good start. Other chiropractic techniques focused on scoliosis include "CLEAR institute". Some popular physical therapy approaches include "Schroth Method" and "SEAS".

Research shows that a combination of bracing, corrective exercise and chiropractic adjustments can help reduce the curvature of scoliosis. The amount of reduction depends on how her bones are maturing as the window of opportunity for improvement is limited and closes around the age of 18.

If you get in early enough, we can help with the correction. Some have bone changes like a wedged vertebral body that will not correct. Frequently muscle tension is a cause.
Chiropractic is a licensed doctor who does diagnosis and either preforms and/or recommends treatment. The question is what is causing the problem with the spine and that requires diagnosis. Diagnosis can't be done without an examination. If the cause is postural then Chiropractic care with it's many therapeutic treatments including exercises is the treatment of choice. However, if the problem has a structural component the treatments will still help, but may not totally eliminate the underlying cause. Don't wait to have the examination as the younger the patient is when the problems is detected and treated the better.
Chiropractors can get positive results with scoliosis. Find a chiropractor near you that specializes in caring for patients with scoliosis and corrective care.
Correcting a Scoliosis usually requires some sort of bracing and corrective exercises. This all depends on the severity of the Scoliosis. I would recommend immediately seeking out a clinic which specializes in patients with Scoliosis. The younger your daughter is when treatment has begun, the better the outcomes will be.
