Naturopathic doctors typically do not use essential oils. It is common to use botanical or nutritional uses of herbs but rarely essential oils.
Every Naturopath practices differently and specializes in different things, however, we all attended the same medical school (if your seeing a licensed Naturopath that is), and while we were introduced to them, it was maybe less than 0.1% of our studies. Essential oils are great for diffusing, but can not be ingested or used internally because of their potency and how dangerous they can be. Some oils may be used topically, but only if they have been diluted down and combined with a carrier oil, and even then it's not usually our go-to for treatment ailments.
I personally don't use essential oils in my practice as my goal is to identify and treat the root cause of the disease and essential oils do not fit anywhere in that.
If you choose to move forward with your consultation, I hope you have a good experience and just like with any other doctor, make sure to find one that aligns with your beliefs and goals.
Some do and some don't. It varies on personal preference in treatment.
Yes, some naturopaths make use of essential oils in their treatment plan.

Hello! While all naturopathic doctors receive training in herbal medicine that includes essential oils, whether or not a particular doctor uses them as part of their treatment recommendations varies from doctor to doctor. That would be an excellent question to ask the naturopath you have a consult with if it's a treatment approach you would like to use. I hope your consultation goes well!
Hi.
The use of quality, organic, essential oils is a small part of my
practice.

Naturopathic Doctors do have training in herbal medicine which does include essential oils. However, each doctor may have different modalities that they prefer to use so if you are specifically interested in essential oils I would ask them if they use them in their practice. Best of luck and I hope this answer was helpful.
Some may, but not all do.

Some naturopaths do incorporate this into their practice.
Hello! Naturopathic Doctors are trained in plant medicine, so would be aware of how to use essential oils. That being said, we have so many tools in our tool box, that essential oils are not a main player in our treatment plans. While there may be the occasional essential oil recommendation, most treatment plans do not include essential oils and focus more on other ways to treat naturally.
Yes we do. I use inhaled Peppermint oil for sinus congestion. I use topical Eucalyptus Oil for any skin rash or ulcer. I use Tea Tree Oil for any cystic skin lesion or boil.
