I am a 39 year old female. I will have a tooth removal. How painful is having a tooth removed?

Sorry to hear about your loss of a tooth. You will be given local anesthetic (numbing agent) so you should not feel any pain while you are having your tooth removed (extracted). You will however, feel pressure as the doctor is wiggling your tooth around. The pressure sensation will always be there. Afterward, you will be sore any may have some swelling in that area. Your doctor will give you something for the soreness and tell you to stay on top of it. Hope this helps.

Usually not bad. Tylenol and ibuprofen will usually be enough. Should feel much better having the tooth removed.
