What are the risks of a child receiving anesthesia?

My child is having surgery under the influence of general anesthesia. What are the risks involved?

Discuss with anesthesiology.
There can be allergic reactions to the anesthesia. Under general the patient is not breathing on their own and have to be on the ventilator of bagged. There can be complications with intubation with inadequate oxygenation that can lead to brain problems. This is very rare. If they have asthma, they can have wheezing after the anesthesia and need breathing treatments. There is a very rare condition called malignant hyperthermia that can occur and the patient's fever goes very high. Anesthesiologists are taught how to deal with this.
