“What are the ways to close the gap between two frontal teeth?”
I have a gap between my front two teeth. I know braces is one of the most common options for closing the gap. Are there any other ways of closing this gap between my front two teeth?

Hello,
Closing the gap between your front teeth can be done best with braces or Invisalign. Is this the only gap you have between your teeth? You can usually get a free consult with a local doctor who can advise you the best/quickest way to fix your gap. One of the concerns about fixing a gap between the two front teeth is that little muscular attachment that connects your gums to you lips. Proper evaluation of the muscle can help determine how easy it will close that gap or if the gap will stay closed after the teeth are moved. Yes, this muscle can pull your teeth about again.
Hope this helps.

Invisalign is another form of braces but it doesn't use metal brackets or wires. Instead it uses Clear trays that slip over your teeth. The advantages include no restrictions on food, lower risk of cavities because you can take the trays off to clean the teeth. Faster results as Invisalign can place specific pressures on individual teeth to move and close the gap. With the current smart plastic technology trays can be switched every 4 to 7 days. Another option is veneers/crowns. They can reshape the teeth to close gaps, and change colors and shapes if you would like. The larger the gap the more teeth will need to be prepped to give a more symmetrical esthetic/cosmetic result.
There are many ways to close a midline gap. Orthodontics is just one way. However before you decide on a method, first figure out why the gap is there. Are the bones too big in comparison to the teeth? Are the lateral incisors proportionally too small compared to the front teeth? Coincidentally I'm giving a lecture to dental students tonight on tooth proportion.
Braces is the best option for this. It allows preservation of natural tooth structure. Composite veneers or porcelain veneers would be the second best option depending on the size of the gap. This is costly however and can lead to the need for more treatment another option would be a full coverage restoration such as a crown, however this is highly invasive. Often times this is caused by a musculature attachment known as a frenum. This may need to be removed for a good final result as well.
Depends upon the spatial relationship of the front teeth. Sometimes composite material can be bonded to the teeth to reduce or close the space.
You could try bonding the two teeth which can cost between $250-500 each; the bonding could chip, stain or come off and need to be repaired or replaced. You could have laminates or crowns done, which will run between $800-1750 each. And then there's braces.
You would be recommended to have your teeth whitened first and then have bonding done to close the gaps between your teeth. Bonding is conservative and this helps to put white filling material to close the gap or you can also have veneers made to close the gap. Veneers are porcelains facings that help close the gap between teeth.
There are many ways to close the gap between two frontal teeth, but not as good as teeth bonding. Teeth bonding is the best cosmetic dental treatment that makes effective use of tooth-colored composite resin. The dentist sculpts this resin into the right shape and size so as to cover the gap amid your front teeth. This in fact not only improves the gap between two front teeth, but also improves the appearance of your oral hygiene.
Yes, it should be determined by your dentist, which would be suitable and satisfactory for your dentition. You can have the bonded material put on your teeth or veneer crowns, if you don’t want to go through ortho treatment. Discuss the issue with your dentist, and he/she will give a proper treatment plan for you.
I HAVE 30 YRS OF ORTHODONTIC EXPERIENCE. STEP ONE IS ALWAYS ENGAGING APPROPRIATE DIAGNOSIS, SUCH AS WHY IS THERE A SPACING ISSUE. TYPICALLY IN A YOUNG PT AGES 5-8 FUNCTIONALR EMOVABLE APPLIANCES ARE USED TO MODIFY THE DENTAL ARCHES. IF BRACKETS AND BANDS ARE NOT AN OPTION, A SERIES OF ALIGNERS CAN BE USED TO SLOWLY CLOSE THE SPACES.
To close a gap there are a few ways. Best way is with braces of course. Another way is to build up the teeth with bonding. But sometimes that makes huge front teeth that may not look great. Often you need to crown all 4-6 front teeth to share the gap space to create a nice look. So braces, crowns, veneers or bonding are possible options. Depending on your bite and space of course. The old saying you get what you pay for is true.

Your first option and the cheapest is to do direct composite veneers
Option 2 ceramic indirect veneers or crowns
Option 3 is Invisalign or if suitable MTM minimal tooth movement
As you progress down the options to get more expensive

Depending on the amount of space present, you may be able to get the space closed using restorations placed on these teeth. The restorations can be fillings, veneers or crowns. Of course in most cases, using braces or Invisalign is preferable to restorations. Check with your dentist regarding best options for you.
Depending on the size of the gap a couple of things can be done. If it is fairly small filling material can be bonded to the teeth to close the gap. If the gap is larger the filling material will not be strong enough to last a porcelain veneers may be an option.
You can probably have your dentist design a retainer with special Springs on it to close your space if you're not considering being seen by an orthodontist. There will require an impression or mold of your teeth and a dental lab to construct it, it may save you from for orthodontic treatment if you catch it in a timely manner.
