We usually replace the tooth with an implant, or if there are other teeth, we can replace with a bridge or partial denture.
Usually extract remaining tooth and replace with implant, bridge, or partial.

Generally if there is not enough tooth structure to place a crown depend upon the circumstances sometimes A build-up with pins can be done to give more structure so a crown can be placed. Or if the tooth may need to have a root canal then a post can be placed with A build-up and a crown can then be placed on that.
Unfortunately, if there is not enough tooth structure for a crown, it will likely need to be pulled. Ultimately, this is something you should discuss with your general dentist to be further evaluated and have treatment planned accordingly.
We can use material to build up the tooth or foundation that remains under the crown. If there is absolutely not enough tooth remaining to be built up, then it needs to be extracted and a bridge or implant placed.
Hello,

Amount of tooth structure for a crown is the first thing that a dentist considers when they make the diagnosis for a crown. If there is not enough tooth, the dentist does not usually recommend a crown. He/She will recommend removing the tooth and replacing. It is important to realize that a tooth that is broken down to the gums still has the ability to be rebuilt into a crown. As long as there is no decay, a post and a build up material can be used to give the dentist enough tooth to put a crown on. Otherwise, the tooth would need to be replaced. Hope this helps.

My best to you,
